Usage Flexfill PEBA 90A in O.K. Servis Biopro

Fillamentum Industrial introduces new industrial material, engineering filament PEBA, based on polyether-block-amide, which was specially developed for processing by 3D printing. O. K. Servis BioPro has also tried this material for prototyping in product development. BioPro focuses on the biology and agriculture fields, and has been on the market for over 30 years.

3D printing is one of the production technologies our company uses for prototyping in product development, for the production of custom parts, or for the production of spare parts that are difficult to obtain or unnecessarily expensive.“ says Zuzana Weberová – 3D printing specialists in the company of BioPro. „On Fillamentum’s recommendation, it was CPE as a hard plastic and PEBA as a soft, rubber plastic to try.” Mrs Weberová adds.

At first we had a problem finding the right temperature and print speed. Working with PEBA is difficult, but it prints well after finding the right settings. The printed walls had a bit of a glittering effects in some places between the layers, but from our point of view it did not affect the function, print integrity and flexibility of the printed part.” Mrs Weberová adds.

The BioPro company points out that time saved by printing these parts is considerable compared to conventional production. When the cyclone parts were made from metal, first they had to be finished by a contractor with limited production capacities, painted and only then mounted in the assembly. Printed parts can be installed right away. With good planning of 3D printing production, two to three parts for the cyclone can be ready for the next day (two sizes of parts, different print times).

“We much appreciate the flexibility and willingness of the Fillamentum phone support from their e-shop and great help with choosing the suitable materials.” Mrs Weberová adds at the end.
